Elena Hsuanyi Whitwam is a Taiwanese and American printmaker and graphic designer based in Chicago. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work combines traditional techniques such as lithography and screen-printing with digital processes, drawing inspiration from Taoist philosophy and the aesthetics of packaging design.

Through her work, she explores the connection between people and memory, transforming print into a vessel for recollection by shaping it into three-dimensional forms. Whitwam has exhibited in group shows across Chicago, including at Happy Gallery (2023), Color Club Chicago (2024), Haz Cooperative Studios (2025), and the SAIC Galleries (2025).

She also designed the book cover for the best seller: Selling to China: Stories of Success, Failure, and Constant Change by Ker Gibbs, published in 2023. In addition to her studio practice, Whitwam is active in Chicago’s zine and print fair communities. She has participated as a vendor at Hidden Ideas (2023), SZNL CHICAGO (2024), Schoolhouse’s Mourning Doves 4 Mutual Aid (2025), and Zine Club Chicago at the Southside Zine Festival (2025).
